Corporate Social Responsibility

As part of our ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, AVW-TELAV is proud to announce its donation of approximately 1,200 lbs of used clothing to Certex (Centre de récupération et de recyclage du textile du Grand Montréal). Some of the clothing will be exported to Africa and the remainder will be recycled for use as rags.

Certex is a Quebec-based non-profit corporation whose mission is to operate a place of work and socio-professional integration for people with functional limitations, as well as to recycle and reuse clothes, textiles and other pieces of clothing.

“In addition to helping us meet our environmental objectives, 70% of Certex’s employees have functional limitations, so this donation is also a basis of creating work for them,” noted Heidi Moewius, Receptionist at AVW-TELAV’s Head Office in Montreal. Moewius organized the donation project, sorted and logged all the clothing, and made the arrangements for the clothing pickup, as the creation of employment for individuals with functional limitations is a cause that is very dear to her.

"Thank you, AVW-TELAV, for your generous donation,” said Joël Renaud, Coordinator Supply and Sales, Certex Canada. “It is through the support of progressive organizations such as yours that Certex can continue to protect the environment and be a strong and enduring resource for people with functional limitations seeking employment.”
