AVW-TELAV is proud to announce that Joanne Kiriakidis, Senior Account Executive, Ottawa, has been honoured with the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) national Long-Time Service Award. CSAE promotes the value of not-for-profit organizations in Canada by reinforcing and advancing the excellence and professionalism of its members through relevant education, advocacy, information and research.

CSAE introduced the Long-Time Service Award in 2002, to acknowledge the support of individuals who have been members of the Society for 20 years or more. “Please accept my personal best wishes, and those from the Board of Directors and your fellow CSAE members, for your tremendous support,” wrote Michael Anderson, CAE, President and CEO, CSAE, in a congratulatory letter to Ms. Kiriakidis.

Ms. Kiriakidis joined the organization 20 years ago because it was a smart business decision but stayed because she and CSAE share similar goals. “I have remained a member as I truly believe in the organization’s philosophy, to maintain the connections I have made, and to encourage new members to participate in our chapter’s varied activities and committees,” she explained.

The Ottawa-Gatineau Chapter has a very active membership and has won the Chapter of the Year Award every year (except two) since 2001. Ms. Kiriakidis is Co-Chair of the Chapter’s Special Events Committee which organizes the very successful Tête-à-Tête Tradeshow every January/February. Commented Suzanne Lavictoire, President, Ottawa-Gatineau Chapter, CSAE, “Our Chapter is the primary beneficiary of members like Joanne who are engaged and committed to the association community.”
