AVW-TELAV President’s Award Winner
Customer Service is the foremost reason AVW-TELAV stays at the top of its game. Without our employees’ commitment to serving our customers with Service Second to None (SSTN), we wouldn’t have the prominent reputation in the meetings and events industry that we have maintained for nearly half a century. To reward our employees for enhancing the level of customer satisfaction, AVW-TELAV started a Peer Recognition Program, appropriately called SSTN and the winner receives the President’s Award. The focus of the program is to allow our employees to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of their colleagues, as they demonstrate SSTN. At the end of the year, a selection committee consisting of supervisory and line-level employees, as well as past award recipients review all SSTN submissions for the entire year, and then one overall grand prize winner is selected. The winner enjoys the prestigious title for a year, as well as some great prizes!
Our 2008 President’s Award Winner, announced last month, was Mario Drouin, one of our Assistant Operations Managers in Quebec City. He started with AVW-TELAV in 1999, as a Technical Services Representative; in 2005, he advanced to the position of Technical Services Coordinator; and last September, he stepped up to his current role, which he says is challenging and gratifying.
A graduate of Limoilou College’s (in Quebec) Audio Visual Technician Program, he is known around his branch as a “generous” guy and says, “Listening is the key to providing Service Second to None.”
Despite the all the SSTN submissions from his peers, Mario accepted his award with modesty, grace…and shock. He exclaimed, “I’m very happy. I still can’t believe I won!”
