AVW-TELAV wins 2012 Star Award for OCC Grand Opening
AVW-TELAV received top honours at the 2012 Star Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Technical Support due to its audio, visual and staging contributions to the 2011 Ottawa Convention Centre (OCC) Grand Opening. The Star Awards, also known as the Canadian Event Industry Awards (CEIA), recognizes Canada's brightest, most creative and talented event professionals for outstanding achievements in Canadian special events, meeting management, conference planning and exhibition management. “The Star Awards Gala was a tremendous night for AVW-TELAV, our production partners, the OCC, and Canada's capital,” said Dianne King, General Manager, AVW-TELAV Ottawa. “Congratulations to all involved in creating an unforgettable experience worthy of unveiling a truly iconic convention centre, and thank you for being very special partners.”
In addition to the technical excellence award, the OCC Grand Opening garnered AVW-TELAV’s creative partner on this event, Accucom Corporate Communications Inc., a tie in the Star Awards Best Opening Event category.
Patrick Kelly, President of the OCC, attributed the success of the Grand Opening to a well-executed collaborative effort. “It was an outstanding event and wouldn't have been possible without the creativity and expertise of AVW-TELAV, Accucom Corporate Communications Inc. and their teams,” remarked Kelly. “Congratulations to them both!”
