Working in partnership with Judy Lane Consulting, AVW-TELAV travelled to the Dubai World Trade Centre for one of the largest gatherings of the international legal community in the world, the 2011 International Bar Assocation (IBA) Annual Conference. With more than 5,000 lawyers and legal professionals from around the world, and 180 working sessions taking place in 29 rooms, IBA required a presentation management process with the capability to organize and facilitate a constant stream of legal presenters over six days.Impressed with the services they received last year in Vancouver, IBA again called on AVW-TELAV to support its conference with Presentation Management 4 (PM4). The PM4 system gave the myriad of presenters the ability to upload their presentations to a central location, on a secure website, before their sessions, view their presentations and make changes, and then re-save at any time from any computer.
AVW-TELAV travelled to Dubai three days early to create custom images and clone them onto 45 locally-provided laptops. When the presenters arrived at the conference, AVW-TELAV provided them with a dedicated, high-tech Speaker Ready Room where they were able to comfortably review their presentations on the laptops, practice and make last-minute adjustments, with the assistance of four AVW-TELAV professionals. AVW-TELAV took charge of the entire presentation management process, including logistics, which weren’t directly our responsibility, and communicated effectively what needed to be done for the flow of presenters to be supported in an orderly manner.
Later, when it was time for sessions to begin, AVW-TELAV digitally transmitted all of the speakers' presentations to the correct rooms so they didn't have to fumble with cords or laptops. The sessions ran smoothly and without incident. Noted Ronnie Hart, Head of IBA’s Legal Practice Division, PM4 was “a critical component to the conference.”
We would like to acknowledge the following AVW-TELAV staff and crew members for contributing to the success of this event: Pete Dickens, Keith Goodwin, Peter Wong and Ian Greenwood
