Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) is the professional association for those who manage many of Canada's highly-regarded associations. The organization provides education, professional standards, and resources for the Canadian association community. The attendees at the conference represent many of AVW-TELAV's customers. As such, we are proud to have provided the AV services at CSAE's Annual Conference for several years. This annual event allows us to give back to our stakeholders and also showcase new ideas that the attendees can use in their own meetings.
The CSAE conference brought together over 600 delegates, sponsors, speakers and friends of the CSAE for a record attendance. "This year's Conference & Showcase was an overwhelming success on so many levels," said CSAE President & CEO Michael Anderson, CAE.

"The feedback my staff and I have received proves once again how important and necessary it is for not-for-profit professionals, colleagues and friends to communicate face-to-face when it comes to sharing ideas and experiences as well as learning new best practices. The assembled experts brought in by CSAE this year were particularly well-received and we look forward to next year's conference in Toronto."
Educational seminars ranged from 'What Canadian Leaders Expect from Associations',
'7 Things You Need to do Right Now to Sustain Your Future' to 'Worldchanging - the
Power of New Thinking and Innovative Solutions'.
Having taken place this year at the Sheraton Wall Centre in Vancouver, BC, CSAE's Annual Conference featured an Ice Floe set spanning the entire width of the main room with HD image projection to create a dynamic photo-realistic backdrop. While WatchOut image processing was used to manage the HD images, videos, and PowerPoint during the Plenary Sessions, the Annual General Meeting, and the Honours & Awards Session, live image magnification was used to bring the presenters and their presentation materials closer to the audience.
One of the main objectives of CSAE's meeting this year was to demonstrate different methods associations can use to "green" their conferences. AVW-TELAV provided an internet café on site and, as a result, no program handouts were printed. In addition, delegates could print only the handouts they needed. Digital signage was used wherever possible, to keep the delegates up to speed on meeting schedules, without the excess paper waste. The annual conference also included six concurrent educational sessions requiring audio and projection and a tradeshow where the suppliers to the association community could showcase their products and services. These segments took place at Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre (VCEC).
Using our line array sound system and our new Digico digital mixing console, AVW-TELAV complemented the live entertainment at the Gala Dinner with impeccably crisp audio throughout the VCEC ballroom. In addition, the Ice Floe, 'painted' with coloured lights to match the spectacular room décor and table settings, added that extra touch of dazzle to CSAE's formal evening.
"AVW-TELAV was great to work with," said Gail McHardy, CMP, Director Conference and Events, CSAE. "Their knowledge and experience helped make my job much easier."
