Special Event - Celebrating 20 years of progress

Checking the UV Index or applying sunscreen before leaving home in the morning probably would not be commonplace had it not been for the Montreal Protocol.

Twenty years ago when the Montreal Protocol of Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer was established, AVW-TELAV was hired by Public Works, Government Services of Canada, and Environment Canada to provide all of audio and visual solutions. Two decades later, AVW-TELAV had the honour of providing service this past year's conference which celebrated the Montreal treaty's 20th Anniversary.

In addition to the standard audio visual equipment required for the Plenary session and numerous workshops at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal, AVW-TELAV provided simultaneous interpretation in six languages. The official languages were Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish, and we distributed 1350 32-channel receiver headsets.

This pivotal anniversary celebration of a historical international agreement unfolded flawlessly. AVW-TELAV will be just as excited, when the time comes, to help commemorate the Montreal Protocol's 40th celebration!
