Over 2900 attendees participated in more than 80 educational sessions in 20 topic areas such as Convention Management, Technology, Exhibition Management, Marketing and more. The other key aim of the event was to offer numerous networking opportunities to share ideas and best practices with colleagues and peers.
AVW-TELAV was proud to provide PCMA with all of their audio visual and general session production needs. And this year's general session set the standard for future meetings.
Video
Projection for the general session room consisted of one center screen (10'x 30') covered by three edge-blended Barco SLM-R8's, and 2 side screens(12 x 16) using Barco SLM-R10's. Moving background for all screens images were output via a Watchout system. A Folsom Encore processing system layered the backgrounds with live camera and PowerPoint presentations delivering seamless digital signal to the projectors at their native resolution. Three studio configured cameras provided image magnification on all three screens.Lighting and sound were also key components for the general session room. The stage was lit with a two color stage wash (pale blue and white) and numerous area specials. Color blasts (LED lighting fixtures) and moving (intelligent) lights were placed on the floor behind the main stage and focused on pleated white drapery to create a textured cyclorama effect. The high-end audio system featured a flown EAW 650 system with an eight speaker delay line, front fill and onstage monitors. The installation also included numerous wireless, wired and choral mics and a 36-channel Soundcraft console.
Staff dedicated to the show included a producer (responsible for content and ordering of the show); a designer/production stage manger (to design and execute the installation); a video director, operators for the Watchout and Encore systems, as well as three cameramen, teleprompter and PowerPoint operators and lighting and audio specialists. PCMA knows how to throw a successful event. Each year they put on the industry's most coveted event, a must for any industry insider or aspirant.
